Additional sections of the popular Academic Skills Math and Reading Camps just released for entering grades 2 through 7.
Academic Skills: Math & Reading Achievement-oriented, these programs provide an opportunity for students to improve their academic skills in math and reading. Instruction is tailored to the needs of each student. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of six students.
Mathematics…: Developing computation skills and understanding basic math processes are the major components of the math program. At the first class meeting, students are tested and a plan is developed for each student to address specific skill areas. Upon completion of this course, a final report of goals achieved and areas needing further attention is sent to parents.
Reading: Students learn to be active participants in the reading process while focusing on comprehension and decoding skills. The program includes vocabulary development, book analysis and discussion, summary writing, and honing main idea, conclusion, and inference skills. Students may choose their own novels.
